We will have a full-time safari guide/driver, a cook and a support crew. The trip is non-participatory, so the tents and camp will be set up by our awesome team. There will be 2 people to a tent and you will sleep on cot beds with mattresses, bedding & towels provided. The tents have an ensuite bathroom with pit toilet and warm bucket shower every evening. We’ll eat all together in a ‘mess’ tent and all meals will be provided by the crew (the food is amazing, with homemade fresh bread most days). You’ll love it!

Day 2: Elephant Sands, Botswana

After breakfast, we’ll leave Kasane to head to Elephant Sands, our first stop on this incredible itinerary.

Elephant Sands is a lodge with a fantastic waterhole that is very popular with the local elephants.

Every day (and night) elephants and other animals visit the lodge to drink. The waterhole is visible from the pool, the bar or your room, so wherever you fancy hanging out, you’ll have a front-row seat.

So sit back, relax, and enjoy the view, or take a dip in the pool – your choice!

In the evening we’ll enjoy a big, tasty dinner and afterwards, you can sit at the now floodlit waterhole to watch the nocturnal animals come out to drink.

In the evening, we’ll watch the sunset over the pans, enjoy a traditional braai (bbq) and sleep under the spectacular starry skies in a fly camp. A magical evening!

Day 4: Gweta, Botswana

In the morning, we’ll be up super early to hang out with the coolest residents of the desert, the Kalahari meerkats.

These mischievous creatures are semi- habituated to humans, so don’t be surprised if they climb on you to get a better view over the landscape.

Arriving back in Gweta mid-morning, we’ll settle in before heading out on a village walk, learning about the local Batswana culture before enjoying a traditional lunch.

In the afternoon there will be some free time and those who want to can take a Baobab Bushwalk before dinner.

The planes stay relatively low, so you’ll be completely wowed by the incredible views of the waterways, islands, and animals.

Day 6 – 7: Okavango Delta, Botswana

Today we’ll head into the wilds of the Okavango Delta by mokoro (traditional canoe) to spend the next 2 nights. When we arrive, our camp will be set up ready for us to relax and enjoy our surroundings.

‘The Delta’ is the world`s largest inland delta and a UNESCO World Heritage site, formed when seasonal water flowing from the Angolan highlands creates a flood that produces channels and islands that transform the environment into one of the most unique and beautiful landscapes on earth.

This part of Botswana is home to an abundance of wildlife including, elephants, hippo, lions, and zebra and we’ll spend our time enjoying the mokoro rides through the waterways and taking walking safaris through this incredibly unique part of the world.

Early the following morning, we’ll head out on a bush walk through the Delta with an experienced local guide.

This will give you the opportunity to learn about the flora and fauna of the area and there will be a chance to see animals such as giraffes, antelope, and elephants. Which is a thrilling experience when travelling on foot.

In the afternoon, we’ll swim and explore the waterways further and you will be able to try out your mokoro poling skills.

As the sun sets over the Delta, we’ll take another ride through the waterways where we are likely to see even more animals. Then it’s back to camp for another night around the campfire.

We’ll spend the next 3 days staying on the border between the Khwai Concession and the Moremi Game Reserve which is one of the most beautiful parts of Botswana.

We’ll camp in the park, allowing ourselves to be fully immersed in the bush for the next few days and give us the best chance of seeing the animals.

This area is home to a vast number of animals including elephants, giraffe, lion, cheetah, hyena, buffalo, wild dogs and around 500 species of bird.

You will love living in the wild and our expert guides and support crew will ensure we have an awesome, safe and enjoyable experience.

Elephants in Savuti Chobe National Park

Day 11 – 12: Chobe National Park (Savuti Area), Botswana

We’ll continue through the parks, next moving on to the remote, raw and wild Savuti region of Chobe National Park. One of the BEST places in the whole of Africa for safari.

Chobe National Park is home to an estimated 120,000 elephants, which is one of the most concentrated populations of elephants in all of Africa.

Savuti is famous for a number of reasons… first for the disappearance of the Savuti Channel which dried up in 1981, only to mysteriously reappear in 2008, attracting large numbers of animals who drink from the clear waters.

Savuti is also known for high numbers of elephants and predators, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas and wild dogs.

The lions in Savuti are historically famous for their unusual behaviour and excellent hunting skills. They have been known to hunt and kill elephants which is uncommon in other parts of Africa. This behaviour began when Savuti was dry and still continues today.

In the evenings, we’ll enjoy dinner and sundowners around the campfire, enjoying some of the most spectacular sunsets you’ve ever seen in your life.

As you drift off to sleep, listen for lions roaring and hyenas laughing in the distance.

The evening is free to do as you please, however, you may want to head out with the group to a great local restaurant for dinner and drinks.
